Centrifuge tubes are specialized laboratory containers designed to withstand the high centrifugal forces generated during centrifugation processes. These cylindrical tubes come in various sizes and are typically made from materials like plastic or glass, chosen based on their compatibility with specific applications.
Centrifuge tubes feature tight-fitting caps to secure the contents and prevent leakage during high-speed spinning in a centrifuge machine. They are commonly used for separating components of a liquid sample, such as cells, proteins, or DNA, by subjecting the sample to rapid rotational forces. Centrifuge tubes are crucial tools in various scientific disciplines, including molecular biology, biochemistry, and clinical diagnostics, allowing for efficient and precise separation of substances in the laboratory.
Our high-performance polypropylene tubes are autoclavable to 120°C and freezable to -80°C. Designed for a range of sample handling, processing and storage applications, tubes are available in three volumes and an assortment of colors. Tubes have flat-top snap cap, except 0.5mL tubes, which also are available with indented-top snap cap.
